Delivering the Commons to Plan-Track-Assess research in EOSC.

Streamline FAIRness, interconnectivity and machine actionability across the Planning, Tracking and Assessing  phases of research.

Vision

OSTrails is creating a more connected and open research environment. One where researchers and institutions can confidently plan, track, and assess their work using tools that work together seamlessly. The project's goal is to make research more transparent, reusable, and efficient by applying FAIR principles across every stage of the research process.

Why

Many research support tooles and systems still operates with respect to managing planning, tracking and assessment workflow. This fragmentation leads to duplicated effort, limited visibility, and reduced potential for sharing and reusing knowledge also over institutional and disciplinary boundaries. Although much progress has been achievied within individual research institutes and research infrastructures, no overaching framework to plan, track and assess is yet accepted that supports high-quality science and effective collaboration.

How

OSTrails brings together a dievrse community of 41 partners from 17 countries, including, the five EOSC Science Clusters. Through 25 pilot initiatives, spanning discipines, national infrastructures, and European projects, the project the tests practical solutions to improve how research is planned, monitored, and evaluated.
By coordination the integration and adaption of over 80 tools and services through its Plan-Track-Assess (PTA) Framework, OSTrails is building a shared foundation for OpenScience that is scalable, adaptable, and aligned woth diverse research needs.

OSTrails

Co-develop and test fit-for-purpose pathways and solutions for FAIRness and machine actionability in planning-tracking-assessing across domains and national settings.
